The Best Breakfast
The best part about having to wake up as a kid was breakfast. Breakfast is no fun anymore, so why even bother getting up in the morning?
THEN (as a kid):
Fruity Pebbles with extra milk (so I could drink the leftover milk from the bowl)
Waffles with tons of butter and sticky Karo syrup
Sugar Corn Pops (any cereal with the word "sugar" on the box was a happy breakfast)
Puffed Rice with a cup of sugar added (OK, maybe not a cup)
Chocolate milk with a spoonful of peanut butter
Halloween candy with a glass of milk (the milk makes it healthy, right?)
My dad's overdone pancakes (I thought pancakes were black and crispy until I had some at a restaurant...not prepared by my dad)
NOW (as an unfortunate adult):
Banana
Ezekiel Bread with 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter
Chocolate low-sugar protein drink (a.k.a. chalk)
A bagel with almost no cream cheese (what's the point?)
Hard boiled eggs, without the yolk
Oatmeal, no sugar or milk (adding cinnamon or nutmeg doesn't work...if someone tells you it makes them taste good, they are lying to you)

I still like the occasional tofu scramble but I lots of people either don't or can't eat soy. Also, grits are pretty cool, and don't require many 'bad things' to be tasty. I fact, one could doctor grits w/peppers, tomatoes, other veggies and probably get something inviting...
