I'm not exactly overly girlie or anything, so when I first got engaged, the thought of picking out a dress wasn't exactly jumping up and down in my head begging for attention. As a matter of fact, I went to a bridal warehouse, grabbed something off the rack, tried it on, purchased it, and assumed I was done with the "dress" part of things. It didn't turn out that way.
A week or two later I had buyer's remorse. I thought I might like to have something a bit more fru fru than what I had actually purchased (it appears that weddings turn ungirlie girls into girlie girls). I did some looking online, found many gorgeous dresses out there, but nothing that screamed "me." I was on Etsy.com one day looking for other things when I decided to search for wedding dresses. It was there that I found Angela's online shop and ultimately THE dress.
I received my wedding dress last week and I was in awe when I opened the box. It was made by Angela, the very talented dress maker I found on Etsy.com. Here is a link to her Etsy.com page: http://www.etsy.com/shop/yourfairytalewedding?page=1
I gave Angela some ideas on what I wanted in a wedding dress, she sketched a few designs for me, and I knew as soon as I saw the sketches which one it was going to be. Angela did amazing work. Of course, I grew nervous towards the end, but when I finally had the dress in my hands, I ran to try it on and I could tell it was made just for me (which is was!). I told her I was looking for a "funky, yet lovely dress," and that is exactly what she produced from her own magical hands!
I took the dress to a seamstress for alterations, and when I tried it on for the final fitting, I looked in the full-length mirror and nearly had a meltdown. This is MY dress. THE dress that has been waiting for me for 41 years (my poor dress had probably nearly decided she would never make an appearance!)...
